GOMARIZ
A UNIQUE ESTATE
Gomariz is unique estate in itself: a rural area with a set of certain soil characteristics.
VINEYARDS
VINEYARDS
The plots of land are vinified separately to be able to observe the evolution of the grapes and respect the characteristics of the different estates that make up the personality of each of the vines.
PLANTING
The plants are grown on trellises and with a high density of planting (4000-5000 plants per hectare). The palisades are high allowing for maximum sun and air exposure.
VARIETIES
The winery started at the beginning of the 70’s adopting more traditional style wines from Ribeiro to produce more authentic wine, following a clear path to quality and authenticity towards autochthonous varieties.
CLIMATE
The peculiar climate is favoured by natural barriers and its meridional location in Galicia, that protect the territory from harsh Atlantic winds and storms and produce a microclimate of transition between oceanic and Mediterranean climates.
GEOGRAPHIC TERRAIN
Gomariz is located on one of the banks of the River Avia. The Ribeiro of the Avia is located on the tectonic fracture N-S, that articulates a large number of fluvial tributaries.
SOILS
In Gomariz we have 3 different types of soils in a relatively small zone, giving additional complexity to the style of the wines.
